Back in the Schools

Back in the Schools

Rebecca and I finally got to visit schools today as the holidays are over and school was back in session. We were accompanied by Rev Gerald Phiri and Rev. Kondwani Nkohma – two of our treasured friends. We visited 3 schools and 5 teachers. Only one teacher I have trained before — the rest are all new. The first two schools have a teacher for the pre-school students (ages 3 – 5) and one teacher for grades 1 – 5. The last school only has a pre-school program. We are hoping to see some schools with more teachers tomorrow – and teachers I have worked with in the past.

excited_children_greetingThe students were excited to greet us.

The training will begin on Friday and will be a challenge as we will have to do a bit of review for all the new teachers before we can get into any new content. Rebecca and I will be putting the final details together for our training tomorrow evening. We lost power again this afternoon and into the evening so we decided to go out for dinner. The mall lost power while we were there but fortunately our pizza had already gone into the gas oven. We have power back on tonight so I am able to send this email.

Until tomorrow
