One Service. One Family. Starting Tomorrow.
By Pastor Ellis White
Senior Pastor
As we step into the heart of summer, many of us are still carrying the joy of the Fourth of July—family gathered around the grill, kids waving sparklers, stories and laughter shared across generations. There’s something sacred about holidays like this. They remind us that part of our calling is to pass on what matters most to those who come after us.
As I was reading in the Bible in One Year the morning I wrote this blog, I was reminded through Psalm 78 of this calling:
“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done… so that the next generation would know them… and they in turn would tell their children.” (Psalm 78:4–6)
That’s the heart behind intergenerational worship—not just enjoying being together, but forming a spiritual chain that links the faith of one generation to the next.
Starting tomorrow, and continuing through Sunday, September 14, we’ll gather for one combined worship service each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. This is a summer experiment—a chance to come together as one church family, blending the richness of our Classic and Modern services into a single shared experience.
In July, our elementary-aged kids will join us in the Sanctuary, making our worship truly intergenerational. We believe there’s something powerful about every generation worshiping side by side—not in spite of our differences, but because of them.
We’re not making long-term decisions right now. But we are asking: could this be a glimpse of how the Lord is leading us to gather in the future? This summer gives us space to pray, reflect, and listen—both to the Spirit and to one another.
As you experience these weeks, we’d love to hear what you’re sensing. Feel free to share your thoughts with me, with our elders, or with any of our staff.
We hope you’ll join us tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. as we begin this new season of worship.
Let’s worship together—one family, one focus, one future.
