Greetings from Our New Pastoral Intern

This week’s blog is by Madison Lian, Chapel Hill’s newest pastoral intern.

Hello, Chapel Hill!

It is wonderful to finally be here in Gig Harbor! You all know I am new here, so I thought telling you a few things about myself would be fun. I am a Colorado native who loves running, coffee, and dark chocolate. I love cooking (especially with vegetables) and would love getting to know people while preparing a meal together. I am passionate about missions and have had the opportunity to serve locally and abroad on numerous occasions.

When I anticipate this next year, I am excited to learn and grow with you all as I discover more about you and God’s will here. Two days ago, I drove out from Denver with my wonderful boyfriend, Elliot. As we spoke about God’s movement in Gig Harbor, I was energized by the thought of being here, meeting all of you, and seeing how God’s hand has clearly shaped this community.

I have been blown away by the kindness I have encountered at this Sweetheart Church. The verses that have guided my process coming here are from 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” I give thanks for you, Chapel Hill, rejoice for God’s provision, and petition for his will in this next year. Thank you for welcoming me so well; you have blessed me richly.
