Lonely This Christmas

Lonely This Christmas

As a child one of my memories of Christmas was that my parents would always invite people into our home on Christmas day who found Christmas difficult or couldn’t spend it with their family. Each year for part of the day, someone would come to our home for food and drink and my family would welcome them into ours. It was a formative experience and one that now I get to be on the receiving end of with families here at Chapel Hill during the holiday season.

Christmas is a time when no one wants to be alone, and it is a unique time when we have the privilege of welcoming guests, not only into our home, but into our church. People who would never normally step foot in a church are willing to come at Christmas.

We have a Joy for Every Longing Heart that the world needs to hear. A story of a God who could not remain distant from His creation, but desired to come and make His home with them. It is a story of hope in a season of despair for many. And it is a story that needs to be shared.

So please take this opportunity to invite friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to join us at one of several events designed specifically with those who don’t normally attend church in mind. You never know what a difference it might make in their lives.
