I can’t wait to see you!
We are so excited that this weekend marks the relaunch of our in-person worship services. It has been 16 weeks since we last gathered together in our Sanctuary on March 8, and although it has been wonderful to gather online during this season, we have missed you all and can’t wait to get back together.
Of course, this is a bittersweet reunion, because not all of us can be together. There are many in our body who will be unable to join us tomorrow, for a whole variety of reasons, and we know that might be the case for some time yet. Therefore, going forward we are committed to providing both online worship and in-person worship every weekend.
For those of you who gather online, the experience will be very similar to what you’ve already been doing, with one small change. Our modern service will now move to 11:00 am on Sunday as we will be live-streaming our in-person 11:00 am service. Otherwise, you will still be able to access our services on YouTube and Facebook, and they will remain available on-demand after they have aired.
For those who are planning to join us in person tomorrow, we will have three services at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, and 5:00 pm. The 9:00 am will be a Classic style and the 11:00 am and 5:00 pm will be a Modern style.
In order to make this a great experience for all who attend, we want to make sure that it is as safe as possible. To this end, we’re going to ask you to do two things that before COVID-19 might have seemed ridiculous, but now are there to help us better elevate others by demonstrating that they are more important than ourselves:
- RSVP using this link to let us know which service you will be attending. For safety, we are limited to 200 people for each service.
- Read and follow the important health and safety guidelines on this page. By following these guidelines, we can practically demonstrate that we love others by putting their health and safety above our own.
And for those wondering about in-person children’s programming, we are working hard to begin to offer those programs again soon, but we are not in a place to do so at this time. To help parents in this season, we will make sure our worship services remain engaging by keeping things moving quickly and reducing the preaching time. Remember, you can still access children’s lessons, Paul Hargreaves’ blog, and kids’ videos here. Watch for news on when kids’ programming will resume soon.
Regardless of how you choose to worship with us tomorrow, I know that we will be united together in the Spirit, as Paul writes in Ephesians, “There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call—one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
