Don’t Ignore the Data | Gig Harbor | Chapel Hill Online

Ever get good advice you’ve ignored? How did that turn out? In this sermon, Pastor Mark explores how relying on each other for wise counsel–good advice–is vital. Who do you have speaking God’s counsel into your life?

Thinking Further:
1. Read Daniel 5. In what ways did Belshazzar ignore the data?
2. One of the biggest differences between King Neb and King Belshazzar was the way they responded to wise counsel. Think back on a time in your life when listening to wise counsel made all the difference.
3. One challenge for right now, and one for later this week. Which one do you need to take up?
a.Who do you have speaking the counsel of God into your life? Talk about who it is right now with your group and later, reach out to them and thank them for their important role in your life.
b. One of the important messages in this passage is how much we need each other; the young and the old. If you are sharing these questions with your family, or in an intergenerational group, share with each other why you value the mix of generations. Later this week, reach out to someone of a different generation and build a bridge of connection.
