Coming Back From Humiliation | Gig Harbor | Chapel Hill Online

Have you ever been embarrassed? Or even humiliated? We are all humiliated at some point in our lives, but how do we respond to it? Join Pastor Mark as he explores how Daniel responded to humiliation, and how the power of God’s love can restore us.

Thinking Further:
1. How was King Neb humiliated in Daniel 4? It’s easy to laugh at the humiliation of other prideful people, but what about you? What are you most proud of and when have you been brought low because of it?
2. Daniel’s response to the dream is one of compassion, tenderness and grace toward King Neb. Think back on a time that someone you strongly disliked received justice for their actions. Was your gut response one of righteous anger or tender compassion?
3. For the third time, King Neb gives praise to God “for there is no other god who is able to rescue in this way.” How does the story of King Neb’s life speak to the faithful nature of God’s restoring love? How have you seen God’s faithfulness to you in your own story when you’ve made mistakes?
