There’s No Better Time Than Right Now

Something happens in September.
The slow, untethered pace of summer gives way to something more structured. Kids go back to school. Routines return. People start thinking again about what they want their weeks to look like—and what they want their lives to look like.
Psychologists call it the “fresh start effect.” The research shows that people are far more open to making meaningful changes at the beginning of new temporal landmarks—a new week, a new month, a new season. September, for most people, functions like a second New Year.
Which means right now is one of the best moments all year to invite someone to church.
The conditions are right—people are open, rhythms are resetting, and there’s something in us that longs to anchor our lives to something that actually matters.
And this fall, there’s a lot to invite them to.
On September 13, we’re kicking off a brand new series called The Heart of Revival. We’ll be exploring what genuine spiritual awakening looks like—in Scripture, in history, and in the ordinary lives of people like us. What does it look like when God moves? What happens when a community stops going through the motions and starts experiencing the real thing? This series is going to challenge and encourage us in equal measure.
And then on September 20, we have a Sunday I’ve been looking forward to for months.
We’re calling it Find Your Place Sunday—a day set aside to celebrate, connect, and invite. We’ll be unveiling the completed refresh of our lobby, café, and bathrooms (which look incredible, by the way). And more than the building, it will be a morning to help everyone—longtime members and first-time visitors alike—find where they belong in the life of this church.
It is the perfect Sunday to bring a friend.
So here’s my ask: think of one person in your life who might be ready to take a step. A neighbor, a colleague, a family member who’s been on the edges of faith. Reach out this week. Invite them to join you—for the series, for Find Your Place Sunday, or simply for any Sunday between now and then.
The door is open. Let’s hold it open together.
