Chapel Hill Habitat Home
Let’s build a place called home.
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps people build and improve places to call home. They believe that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to live, and they work to make that a reality for families in need.
The Chapel Hill Home will be the first Habitat home built in Gig Harbor in over a decade, and is one of three single-family homes in our upcoming development near St. Anthony Hospital. Because the property is located just above Highway 16, all three homes will be constructed with insulated concrete foam walls rather than standard framing to create additional soundproofing—a first for Tacoma Habitat.
On September 9, 2023 Chapel Hill members had the opportunity to raise the walls of the Chapel Hill Home, with messages of hope for the new homeowners written along the framing studs. This has been an all-church effort with volunteers building the home, church members and leaders praying and everyone’s financial contributions making this possible. Chapel Hill is honored to be part of what God is doing to help the community of Gig Harbor thrive. We hope you’ll continue serving with us through the completion of the home in 2024!

Learn & pray
Learn more about Habitat for Humanity.
Pray:
- For God to be at work in the lives of the future Habitat homeowners as they attend classes, build skills, and receive housing counseling. Pray that their “sweat equity” work will be meaningful as they make contributions to home construction.
- For the construction progress to go smoothly, and safety of staff and volunteers.
- For God to use these homes to build up community among our local churches partnering to build the homes and among the neighborhood and the homeowners. May this be an opportunity to build His Kingdom in the process.
We will continue to update this web page with new information as it becomes available. Questions? Contact Local Outreach Coordinator Chandra Hallam.
