empowering you to serve
Chapel Hill knows that being “church” means we all have a unique gift from God to bless the world. Member empowerment groups help launch grassroots leaders to answer their call to serve. These volunteer-led outreach efforts all reflect Jesus—the Son of God who makes peace with us—by bringing spiritual, emotional, and material healing right where we are.
Meet our current empowerment groups! Click on their link to connect with current opportunities to participate. All are welcome.
Tacoma Street Ministries
Every week we share the grace of Jesus Christ through compassion and conversation with neighbors experiencing homelessness. Sign up to donate sandwiches, water, hygiene items and more on Friday afternoons or go out with the Search and Rescue team. Follow us on Facebook or check out the Amazon wishlist.
Team Liquid Assets
Friends around Gig Harbor started with their LifeGroup looking for ways to care for one another and the world. We are clocking 6k on May 21, 2022 to help World Vision bring life-changing clean water and the fullness of life to children. Find information and ways to support or join us on our Team Liquid Assets webpage.
Advocates for Life
Struggling moms and dads need our support to care for the little ones that they bring into the world. We host a “Baby Bottle” fundraiser and share CareNet‘s faith-based resources (prenatal care up to age four). We listen for needs and God’s voice in order to take action for the most vulnerable.
Joining Moms in Prayer
With a vision to cover every school in our community in prayer, moms and grandmothers gather weekly in small groups to pray. We organize Bless our Schools Sunday in September, and support statewide efforts. To pray with us or to request prayer let us know on this form or follow Washington Moms in Prayer on Facebook.
Comfort Quilters
We are a community of women working together on Thursdays at the church to provide beautiful, hand-made quilts to people who could use an extra bit of love in their lives, whether staying at the women’s shelter, grieving a loved one, or enduring a crisis. Contact Cara to connect with the group.
Mentoring Christian Athletes
We develop adult and teen leaders with a heart to coach our local high school athletes in a growing relationship with Jesus. Bi-weekly Fellowship of Christian Athlete “huddles” are an open door for newcomers. Find the group on Instagram @fcagigharbor and @thefcateam.
Safe Families Gig Harbor
We become friends and family to parents with little social support. Safe Families for Children prevents abuse and reduces those in the welfare system by providing respite for those at risk. To connect with us and lend a hand, message our Safe Families Gig Harbor Facebook Group.
Local Makers
Through our handicrafts, Local Makers reflect our Creator and help all ages to use the gifts he’s given them. We are building relationships and encouraging artists to share their stories. Follow Local Makers: Gig Harbor on Facebook.
Supporting Food Backpacks 4 Kids
Many local kids are couch-surfing or fridge-surfing because they don’t have enough to eat at home. We are a group of believers who actively support FB4K so kids in Peninsula district schools have access to nutritious and easy-to-prepare food. Food Backbacks4Kids Facebook group.
Letters of Love
For women grieving over pregnancy loss, we offer space for healing and hope by sharing our own stories. We provide loving support to many who otherwise suffer silently. Connect with us and learn about the program on our website.
WCCW Clothing Drive
One mile from the church building, women live within walls defined by their worst mistake. but they are daughters of the King! We involve the community in clothing them with dignity as they prepare to re-enter society. Contact Cara to host a drive.
