Hello fellow Chapel Hill-billies!

Hello fellow Chapel Hill-billies!

I hope that many of you were able to enjoy the annual Maritime Gig today! Thanks for representing Jesus and our church family in our community! One quick reminder, one important service opportunity, and one invitation, and then I’ll let you get back to enjoying your weekend!

First of all—First Step will be offered this Sunday. This membership class will be offered after second service from 12-3:00pm, with lunch and childcare provided. This is the class to be a part of, if you want to be baptized during the Harbor Baptism on Sunday, August 30! To register for First Step, email Carole Hughes.

Secondly—Thailand Trek is coming! Each summer, we mix it up in the children’s ministry department for five weeks of Summer Sunday School, and we need you to help disciple our kids. You should contact Deb Robertson if any of the following apply to you:

  • You love introducing kids to Jesus.
  • You love our mission partners, Thai Christian Foundation, and are excited about introducing our kids to Thai culture and TCF’s ministry areas.
  • You regularly attend just one of the Sunday morning services and could easily volunteer the other hour of your time once or twice.
  • You are part of a LifeGroup looking for opportunities to serve.
  • You can smile, laugh, and help kids get from Point A to Point B, literally.

Okay, okay, so that last one might seem facetious, but seriously, we need people with a variety of talents and gifts. If you’re saying to yourself right now, “I don’t have what it takes to help out,” let me assure you… you do. Contact Deb Robertson to sign up for just one hour of service June 28, July 5, July 12, July 19, or July 26. As it stands right now, we don’t have enough volunteers to run the program. Thanks for loving our kiddos in this way!

Finally—come back tomorrow night, or Wednesday, June 10, to hear more about our Saturday Evening Service vision. We are very excited to be starting this service in September, and we would love to bring you into the conversation. We’ll meet at 6:30 in Memorial Chapel tomorrow (June 7) and Wednesday, June 10. Pick one of those evenings, and come worship with us and hear how God is leading us in creating this service and how you can get involved. We’d love to have you join us.

Alright, that’s all folks! Now stop reading your email, and go enjoy your family, friends, neighbors and community! I’ll see you tomorrow!
