Cambodia Day 5 – Church in the Village

Cambodia Day 5 – Church in the Village

Sunday morning

Wow what an amazing God filled day! We drove out to a village on a long muddy road. One van got stuck deep in the mud. After a good bit of sliding and with the help of eight Cambodians we were freed.

This village church meets under a lean two shelter attached to a house. Today, 30 children sat outside on a tarp surrounded by banana trees. 20 adults under this awning sang to the Lord with vibrance. For a year Chomno prayed they would find a leader in this village and herebwe were worshipping alongside this new congregation. This is one of 40 churches that CHO helps out with. Dirt floors and homemade benches made for a beautiful setting as they led us in Khmer worship. Then we shared a song as a team, How Great is Our God, which they had prited for us in both languages so everyone could follow along. The children sang three songs for us, one of which was actually recognizable even though it was in a different language…Father Abraham.

Baby chicks ran around my feet as I shared God’s word from Ephesians 1 & 2. It was so beautiful to join with this church in worship to our great God when a year ago this church was only a dream and a prayer.
