It Shall Be A Jubilee For You!

It Shall Be A Jubilee For You!

So many of you request prayer on Sunday mornings for family members who do not yet believe in Jesus. We are right there with you, praying for members of our own families as we pray for your parents, your cousins, your spouses, and your children. Leviticus 25:10 shows that God’s heart is with you to see your family restored—brought back together, repaired, returned. The first statement of the Jubilee year is:

“It shall be a jubilee for you; each one of you is to return to his family property and each to his own clan.”

We saw Sunday that God’s heart was for His name to be passed from one generation to another. But we spend so much time throughout the week with the generations separated—whether by floor on Sunday morning or at work and school through the week, this one eating fast food and that one sitting down to eat a microwave meal.

This Sunday, the generations are coming together. We’re going to pass testimony of who God is among the generations, young to old and those who have been at Chapel Hill 50 years down to those of us who have only been here 5 months. Come to Jubilee Prayer with us this Sunday, February 24 at 5:00pm for 50 minutes of prayer. We will pray through Psalm 100, declaring our thankfulness to God for all He’s done for us, for who He is, and for what we hope He will do. We’ll do that by singing, sharing testimony, creating art, and feasting(!) all in the discipline of remembering who God is and how He is at work in His Church. Then we’ll share a family meal together, good, old-fashioned potluck style. Here are the family meal assignments: A-H Side Dish; I-O Main Dish; P-S Dessert; T-Z Drinks.

Last Sunday, 13 year old Olivia Hayden drew this picture:

I AM rainbow

She heard that God is I AM, and she remembered. We want to be a people who remember and who pass the testimony of God’s faithfulness from generation to generation. Won’t you come and declare how you have seen God at work at Chapel Hill? I look forward to praying with you.

P.S. If you’re looking for a way to be in the big Chapel Hill family in a smaller way, LifeGroups signups will continue this Sunday morning in the Gathering Place. Come and find a group after both services.
