early childhood play day helper

TEAM PURPOSE:

Our Play Day helpers create a warm environment for families who attend quarterly Play Days here at Chapel Hill. Play Days are mornings when either the Memorial Chapel or the Gym is transformed into an indoor playground. These events pull in Chapel Hill Preschool families and MomCo families, also are open to the public. Play Days are an opportunity for families to become comfortable inside our building and to get familiar with our Early Childhood team members.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up room with toys and equipment.
• Greet and assist families.
• Watch for safety concerns.
• Help keep the environment clean.
• Put away toys and equipment.

SPIRITUAL & PRACTICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Our helpers are kind and friendly, since they represent Chapel Hill to families who often have never attended church. They should be easy going, have a sense of humor around toddler behavior. We sometimes will assist a parent who brings multiple children with him/her. So being relaxed and flexible, willing to help where needed is valuable.

TIME COMMITMENT

Quarterly Play Days scheduled for the school year.
Set up the evening before each date, staff it, and clean up after. Helpers can help just with the set-up, or just with the Play Day if desired.
