World Relief Welcome Van
TEAM PURPOSE:
We serve with our Local Outreach Partner World Relief Western WA to welcome asylum seekers and immigrants post-release from the NW Immigration Detention Center in Tacoma. We equip our church family to live on mission, showing hospitality and dignity to people from all nations in practical ways.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Hospitality – offering refreshments, wifi, clothing.
Assist in booking flights and transportation.
Record activities, flights, transportation, etc.
Speak with people from different cultures and languages.
SPIRITUAL & PRACTICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Compassionate, patient listener and communicator. Being multi-lingual can be helpful but not a requirement. Technical skills may include using a computer, messaging applications such as WhatsApp, print boarding passes, look up transportation options, etc.
TIME COMMITMENT
Volunteers from Chapel Hill can serve monthly on third Fridays or more shifts with World Relief if desired. Shifts are Friday 2pm-5pm and 4pm-7pm.
