GENEROSITY TREE
Compassion and Faith in Action
Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised to those who love him? (James 2:5)
Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them “Go in peace, keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it then? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. (James 2:15-17)
This Advent, our Generosity Trees (in the lobby by the Outreach Wall and in the Kids Wing) invite us to see and serve those who are often unseen. Here’s how you can participate:
Compassion Kits for Unsheltered Neighbors
Bring new hygiene items to the lobby Generosity Tree to help create Compassion Kits for our unsheltered neighbors.
Use the Generosity Tree Form below to sign up for specific items so we can build complete kits. These will be hand-delivered by Tacoma Rescue Mission’s Search & Rescue team.
You can also join the Compassion Kit Serve Team this Advent to help gather items and prepare for our Compassion Kit Build on Sunday, January 18, after worship in the Toone Gathering Place.
Deacons Benevolence Fund gifts
Our Deacons support local neighbors facing financial crisis—helping with essentials like rent, utilities, and resource connections. Every dollar given to the Benevolence Fund goes directly to those in need.
Give above your regular tithes by selecting “Deacon Fund” under “Give One Time,” or by noting “Deacon Fund” on your check.
Pray
Please pray this Advent for:
