STAFF VOLUNTEER

Your professional skills in administration, communication, database, and other office related skills can be put to work in our Staff Volunteer positions. These roles are filled by highly skilled individuals who serve alongside our ministry staff to help meet the needs of our growing church. Staff Volunteers (SV) serve on-site during the week—Mondays through Thursdays between the hours of 9am and 4pm. Periodically Staff Volunteers serve on Sundays. Each volunteer serves an average of 4-6 hours a week. Most positions involve at least 20 hours/month commitment for a minimum of one year. Unless otherwise noted, the positions will be filled as soon as qualified candidates are found.


Current openings for Staff Volunteer positions:

Travel Coordinator for Mission Trips:
work alongside our Missions team to oversee our bidding process, which seeks to identify the best price, route and service for teams going overseas to serve with our ministry partners. Create travel documents for team members and attend GO Team training sessions as needed to complete the travel process.

Office Administrative Support: work with the Pastoral/Executive staff support team to put your professional skills to work in strategic ways across the breadth of our ministries. This position floats to the area of greatest need and includes updating church membership records, preparing resources for various classes, and providing coverage during staff vacations.

Special Event Administrative Support: work with the Pastoral/Executive staff support team by using your professional skills to prepare for special events and provide leadership during these events. This position floats to the area of greatest need as determined by the staff support team and often includes weekend or evening hours.

Fair Trade Marketplace Inventory Manager: work with the Missions and Finance staff to create an inventory tracking system that efficiently monitors and controls the various fair trade items we offer through He Brews and Festival of Hope. Serve artisans and vendors of Fair Trade networks to help create jobs and the promise of a better future for those in need. Starts May 2008. (Note, the intensity of commitment varies: September—December, 8-10 hours/week; January-August, 2-3 hours/week.)

Children’s Ministries Project/Event Shopper: This person would work with Children’s Ministry staff to locate, price and purchase supplies needed for projects and events. Craft supplies, drama props, food items, etc. are used in quantity by Children’s Ministries. The staff is budget-conscious and wants to purchase the most supplies for the best price. They would like someone with a knack for locating bargains and a keen eye for spotting just the right items to help them consistently make the best possible buys for their department.
