The Best is Yet to Come

The Best is Yet to Come

Hello friends and family!

Yesterday was hard. Real hard. We had a home cooked brunch of bacon and eggs, watched the Cougs pull a win in basketball against ASU, did a sunny prayer walk of the campus, and ended the day sharing dinner with a slew of Oxford-caliber speakers after church. Rough.

In all reality, yesterday was the calm before the storm. Today the real work begins. We’ll be spending the entire day on campus helping to promote deep conversation and also interest in the various talks being put on throughout the day/week. As a team, we’ve already engaged in four or so spiritual conversations, and that’s before we’ve even started; imagine what it will look like to be in that space constantly for a whole week!

Perhaps the best story so far is that on the plane ride down, Serena Blair sat next to a stranger and struck up a conversation. Turns out, he happened to be an ASU student, not surprising given the incredible size of the university. After their conversation she invited him to come and join us for some of the evening talks, and he readily agreed. It’s pretty cool how God likes to be working constantly through his people when they put themselves in the position to love people.

How you can pray for us:

  • I’m sure you noticed; our nation is a political firestorm. Please pray for peace on the campus and that anger would be driven out by love.
  • That students would be prepared to hear from God and to respond to his call.
  • That our various skills as a team would be used to their full; that students would be drawn to the person best suited to talk to them.

Thanks for supporting us, I can’t wait to see what God’s got in store this week!

The best is yet to come!
