Last weekend amazed.

  • Our Alpha weekend hosted 65 people who gathered to learn more about the Holy Spirit and encounter Him in a personal way.
  • Our weekend services hosted 1467 people, a 52% increase year to year!
  • We finally heard the reveal of the worst-kept secret in Chapel Hill’s history: we are planting a new church, Chapel Hill Port Orchard, and Pastor Megan will be leading the charge!
  • We invited Port Orchard folks to an information meeting in their town…and were blown away by the standing-room-only crowds at Josephine’s. (Thursday night, another 87 folks showed up in Gig Harbor for the same presentation.) This is Chapel Hill’s first church plant; we pray and believe that it will not be our last!
  • Upon returning from Port Orchard, I discovered the church was packed out! The Memorial Chapel was packed out with our Boy Scout troop and their families; the Gathering Place was packed out with our High School Mexico celebration; the Sanctuary was packed out with our Upward celebration.

Any one of these events would be cause to stand up and shout, “Hallelujah!” But all of them…in one weekend? An embarrassment of spiritual riches. Praise the Lord!

This weekend, I continue with our Mark series, “Sick of Religion.” Fair warning: it might ruffle a few feathers. But I believe this story speaks right into this exciting chapter in the life of our church. I look forward to worshiping with you and learning from Jesus.

One last thought: in the midst of this wonderful, wonderful news…our giving is lagging significantly. If ever there was a time when the fruit of your kingdom investment was obvious, it is now. And if ever there was a time when we needed our faithful supporters to remain faithful and generous, it is now. If you are behind in your giving (maybe Snowmageddon is to blame!) could you bring yourself current? If you could do an extra gift, I hope the above list inspires you to generosity. And if you are not yet a giver, please, would you join us? It will bless us, but you will discover, it will bless you more. Give now.

Keep praying. Exciting, exciting times.
