Preparing your heart for Christmas

Preparing your heart for Christmas

You all have been graciously asking, “How was Sabbatical?” And we keep responding, “Sabbatical is going well! Six more days—four more days—” And now—we’re back, and we are working on our new response. Larry and I will be excited to share with you the gift that the last two months has been for us and how God has met us in a season away. We have been on Sabbatical, a word from Hebrew which means rest, and rest we have.

Now Christmas is around the corner, we are all preparing to worship Jesus many times over in the next few days, and I pray you’re finding a moment of rest to prepare your heart for worship, too.

Have you made plans yet? I hope you’re joining us for Christmas Eve! This weekend and next we’re together as usual, Saturdays at 6:30 pm and Sundays at 9:00 am and 10:45 am. And then all this special bonus time to worship together for Christmas—Monday, Christmas Eve Eve at 6:30 pm and Tuesday, Christmas Eve at 3:00, 4:30, 6:00, 7:30 and 9:00 pm. We’ll be there each time! And we hope you will bring loved ones and serve alongside us.

This is a passage of Scripture that’s been preparing my heart to preach. I invite you to read this as a prayer in anticipation of celebrating and serving Jesus, Immanuel, which means “God with us.” And God is with you, most surely.

Do not be afraid. For I bring you good news of great joy. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you. He is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:11)
