9th Annual Run for Relief: Burma 5k Run/Walk and Kid's Dash Sunday, March 11, 2012
For a Million People in Burma, Running is Not a Choice...
Since 2004, it’s been our tradition at Chapel Hill to join with thousands around the world on the Global Day of Prayer for Burma by hosting a Run for Relief – Burma. During the second week in March, hundreds of men, women and children walk, pedal or run the 5K course that starts and ends at the church. The run is followed by a program featuring lunch, a local resettling Burmese refugee choir, awards, and prayer for the internally displaced peoples in Burma. This is a time to celebrate our cherished partnership with the Eubanks and Free Burma Rangers, as well as show our unity with the suffering people of Burma. We won’t stop running until Burma is free!
Registration is $15 per individual or $60 for a family (up to 5 immediate family members). There is no cost for the Kid's Dash. Registration price includes a sack lunch (5k and Kid's Dash). Shirts may be purchased in two styles: long-sleeved tech shirt for $15.00 and short-sleeved cotton shirt for $10. Shirts must be ordered by February 29. There may be a limited supply of shirts available for purchase on the day of the event.
Register ONLINE now. Online registration will close March 7. In-person registration available Sunday mornings (beginning February 12) or at the church offices (Monday through Thursday, 9am to 4pm).

Fair Trade
Fair Trade is a term referring to a growing social, economic and political movement. It ensures that people along every step of a product's supply chain receive fair wages, that workers and communities are treated with dignity, and that artisans and producers take steps to preserve the environment. Manufacturers, businesses and consumers certify, monitor and adhere to Fair Trade principles. They work together to promote direct and long-term relationships, transparent business practices, and workplaces free from discrimination and forced child labor. Artisans are compensated with wages that allow them to send their children to school, receive proper healthcare for their family, and reinvest in their communities. < body>
