Abundance Sunday

We always accept clean, new or gently used shoes and clothes and non-perishable food on the first Sunday of every month. You may leave your donations by your car in the parking lot, or bring them into the Lobby where volunteers will receive them. If you have questions or want to donate an unusual item, please contact Bev Levenson at 253.851.5969.

We do not collect household items, small appliances, dishes, holiday decorations, school supplies, or electronics. The exception to this is the occasional special request. Please see the Abundance Sunday notice for this month's special request. Below is a list of organizations that we work with that DO take items we cannot accept.

Local Food Bank

The Gig Harbor FISH Food Bank and Key Peninsula Food Banks (affiliated with Key Peninsula Community Services) have a mission to provide their clients with respect and compassion along with basic food needs. You'll find the food bank team very friendly and eager to serve. They strive to provide a 3-day emergency supply of food once a month per qualified resident, including canned goods, fresh produce (when available), refrigerated products, pasta, canned meat, boxed foods and dried foods (rice, beans).

World Vision

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to help them reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

Wherever we work, our prayer is that our efforts will be used by God to heal and strengthen people’s relationships with Him and with one another. We do this by demonstrating God’s unconditional love for all people through our service to the poor—which includes providing for daily needs, working to build peace and promote justice, and partnering with churches and individuals to encourage spiritual transformation.

  • Planned Giving Choose from a myriad of easy giving options—from naming World Vision as a beneficiary in your will, to a more complex trust arrangement.

The Rescue Mission (through Need-a-Break)

People in our community sometimes face unexpected hardships and experience rough seasons in life. Often what’s needed in order to continue through these rough circumstances is a small break.

Located at the Rescue Mission’s
Downtown Tacoma Campus, Need-A-Break Program is devoted to helping people succeed in our community by meeting needs that they cannot fulfill on their own. These needs include household items, furniture and minor vehicle repairs. Our goal is to funnel the community's compassion effectively to those in need.

Need-A-Break Program is accepting donations at our warehouse located at our Downtown Tacoma Campus, 425 South Tacoma Way, Tacoma WA 98402. Phone: 253.383.4493

Monday - Friday, 10am–4pm
Saturday, 9am–1pm
