REGULAR SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES: 9:00am and 10:47am

The 9:00 service is"blended," in that it blends the best of traditional hymns with contemporary praise music. You'll hear electric guitar and drums as well as organ and piano and choir. The order of service has some traditional elements and some more contemporary ones.

The 10:47 modern worship service emphasizes the newest, band-driven music, a greater visual impact through video, and more time spent in worship through song. The feeling is more informal, intimate and relational.

The sermon is the same message at both services.

At 8:00am we offer in-depth Bible study in our Adult Sunday School

Worship Services

Sunday Worship Service Times: 9:00am and 10:47am

Our pastors are lively and personable. Their messages are firmly based in Scripture, but always relate to the everyday. They love to use stories from their own lives to get their points across. Each message reminds us of the God who loves us just as we are and calls us to the challenging adventure of a living faith in Jesus Christ.

Chapel Hill is a vibrant church filled with friendly, caring people. We offer something for everyone. Our ministries are detailed throughout this website, and we welcome your questions about any of them. Check us out to see what interests you. Then come and join us this Sunday for worship!

Our services vary from week to week in some respects, but several elements are very consistent. Each week we:

  • sign the welcome pad

  • take a moment to greet one another
  • pray
  • take an offering

  • listen to a sermon, which is the same in both services

  • worship through music

In addition to these weekly functions, we sometimes:

  • celebrate communion, which is open and available to all who are sorry for their sins and want to follow Christ.

  • perform baptisms for members' children as well as adults.
  • get updates from mission partners and teams.
  • watch a short video or skit that illustrates a point relevant to the message.

We particularly want you to know that . . .

  • You are free to express yourself in worship in whatever way is comfortable for you.

  • As our guest, you will at no time be singled out or asked to do anything embarrassing.

  • You are not expected to participate in the offering, but please sign the "Welcome Pad" to let us know you're here.

Nursery and Sunday School

We have a Sunday morning nursery for babies and programs for ages 3 through Pre-K during each service. Your easiest access to the nursery and preschool classrooms is through Entrance C. For your child's security, you will be asked to register by filling out a short contact/health information form when you arrive, and to check your child in and out.

Our elementary age Sunday school at 9:00am is called High C's Adventure. It serves children in grades Kindergarten thru 5th grade. During our 10:47 service K-5th grades begin in the sanctuary with their parents and are dismissed from there to their class (called "The Surf Shop"). For more details on our opportunities for kids, check out our Chapel Hill Kids site!

When You Arrive

Where to Park

Our largest parking lot is located off the Skansie entrance and provides easy access to the Sanctuary. Parking is also available off our Rosedale entrance and, on Sunday mornings only, in the CenturyLink parking lot, which is entered via Skansie north of Rosedale. If you need special access parking please feel free to use those spaces designated as Handicapped Parking.

When you Enter the Building

The main entrances to the sanctuary are doors
D and E

If you have young children, you might choose to enter through door C for easier access to their Sunday school classrooms.

On Sundays you can expect to share a handshake and a smile with one of our greeters. If you have any immediate questions, feel free to ask these friendly folks. They'll either have an answer for you or be able to direct you to someone who does. Please stop by Connect Center to request a Guest Packet.

Extra Assistance

We offer hearing enhancement devices for those who need them. Pick one up before the service at Connect Center in the lobby. We also have large print bulletins for those with vision difficulties. Request one from one of the ushers stationed at the entrances to the Sanctuary. If your children remain with you during the service, you may obtain Kids Activity Bags from an usher.

After the Service

If you have been touched by something in the service, or have a burden you'd like to share with someone, our Prayer Team will be available at the front of the Sanctuary after each service and would be pleased to pray with you. Simply come forward and introduce yourself to one of them.

Sign-ups and information about upcoming events are available at Connect Center in the church lobby.

Around the corner from the church lobby, you will find the coffee shop, He Brews, which offers espresso beverages, pastries and soft drinks for sale from 7:45am to 12:30pm. Adjacent to Hebrews is the Gathering Place, which offers complimentary coffee and tea from 8:45am to 12:30pm.
